The Turner Contemporary
For two years every day Leise recorded the colour of the sky over the Kent coast from a window overlooking the sea capturing the natural rhythms of time and light across the seasons. Living by the sea we find that tides and time become part of our daily life .More than 500 ships a day pass through this stretch of water and all are dependent on the tides.
By her obsessive documentation of these moments Wilson encourages the viewer to slow down and observe the sky, light, time, and the changing of the seasons. There are a total of 730 days and 1460 individual paintings.
